7 Week Intermediate Pottery workshop for Autumn now available. Looking to expand your ceramics knowledge and learn some Intermediate Pottery Skills? This is the perfect opportunity to get an in depth learning experience, learning some more advanced skills and leaning how to make quality ceramic pieces. located at Jacob Lyon Pottery 5 Friesian St, Cowaramup. $449.99 payment locks you in for the whole 7 weeks (7 classes) What’s included ~ All Clay, glaze and equipment ~ All firings and finished pieces Only 6 spots available to ensure I can give you maximum attention, PM or email me to book in jacoblyonpottery@gmail.com Course Structure WEEK 1: ~ Learn how to spiral wedge, allowing you to wedge large amounts or clay than Rams head wedging while also pre aligning the clays particles for the wheel. ~ Learn How to throw Cylinders to a pointer to make a set of ceramic mugs, learn tips and tricks to make your cylinders more consistent and fix common mistakes when production throwing. WEEK 2: ~ Learn how to trim your set of mugs on a chuck ~ Learn how to pull handles. Learn how to attach pre pulled as well as pull off the pot itself. WEEK 3: ~ Learn how to make a functional Teapot, Teapots are notoriously difficult to master, and this week you will learn how to make an even and light shape. You'll also make a spout that pours and doesn't dribble, functional lids and galleries, as well as learning the common design errors we will encounter along the way. WEEK 4: ~Trim and assemble your teapots, learn how to join your spout properly, keeping the pot functional and pulling handles from our teapot bodies. WEEK 5: ~ Learn how to make round bowls, learn to use ribs to shape a smooth interior while learning how to distribute clay properly to design a foot for our pieces, learn how to prevent the notorious "beginner’s hump" ~ Finish the day with a big Salad Bowl. WEEK 6: ~ Trimming our bowls, learn how to trim a foot ring and common errors to avoid when trimming a bowls. WEEK 7: learn advanced glazing techniques, wax resists, modified glaze designs and how to prevent glazing disasters. ~ Then all pots are off to the kiln for final firing which you can expect within 4 - 14 days

Cancellation Policy
Jacobs classes tend to book out regularly, There is limited availability especially for those with large groups and people tend to book weeks/months in advance. There is also only 6 spots in Jacobs classes, and taking up a spot can result in the potential loss of another booking. For this reason: CANCELLATION REQUESTS: Cancellations are non refundable. You can pass your booking onto friends if you cannot make it. RESCHEDULE REQUESTS: Reschedule requests due to the potential loss of a larger group booking are also non refundable. however Jacob can offer a gift card priced at the same value of the initial booking, if that booking is rescheduled. eg: Michael books a class for 4 people, total cost is $200 If Michael lets me know about his need to reschedule (doesn't do a no show on the day) and books into another class for 4 people at another date, He will receive his initial $200 cost refunded In the form of a gift card to use in the shop. This can be used to finish his pots on the day or to purchase Jacobs pottery from his showroom. All reschedule (new bookings) must be made within 1 month and must be of the same value as the initial booking. SHORT COURSE NOTE: At least two people are required for the daily classes to go ahead, if I cannot obtain at least two people you will receive the option to reschedule your booking or you'll receive a refund NOTES: At least three people are required for the multi week classes to go ahead, if I cannot obtain at least three people you will receive the option to reschedule your booking or you'll receive a refund You can only reschedule your bookings once, a second attempt to reschedule will result in a 100% cancellation fee. (unless a medical emergency see to cancellation policy above for details) In rare event of a double booking a refund will be offered, Jacob does not hold liability for system errors and mistakes. LESSON POTS: The finishing process of pottery is filled with the unexpected and unknown, While small defects are common and generally do not affect the pottery, Larger defects are rare. And in the case of larger defects occurring in the finishing process of your pottery a complimentary pot will be offered in replacement to your lesson pot. This will be of the same shape/form or colour. In these situations of extreme defects it is not recommended to use your pottery for food, and to use it for decorative uses/ non food use only. (Not the case for 7 week course students unless kiln malfunction)
