OPENING HOURS
Jacob Lyon Pottery is a one man operation, and due to this opening times vary significantly by day, week and season.
Most Weekends Jacob will be in the studio from 10am to 5:30pm and during the week (Monday to Thursday) from 6-8pm
The most accurate way to know if Jacob will be in, is to view the google calendar. The calendar is updated every Sunday night and will show you studio opening hours throughout the week. It is important to check the calendar before you visit as last minute bookings do occur and things come up where I may be required outside of the studio.

How to read the calendar.
Once opened click the icon in the top right corner and set the calendar to WEEKLY.
From here you'll be greeted with a calendar showing the times I will be in for the week I will attach a code below so you can better understand the specifics.
BLUE: The area marked purple shows the general studio open times, This is for everyone to come in either visit, shop, collect pottery from lessons or use (hire) the studio under my studio use system.
RED : The area marked red shows the time which Pottery workshops (wheel work) generally run, During this time The wheels will generally be occupied and the use of the pug mill is prohibited.
- Customers may still shop around but may have to wait to be served if my hands are messy or my students need assistance.
- Customers picking up orders or lesson pots should contact me prior so that I can get your work ready for you.
NOTE: If you are hiring the studio and want to use a wheel, you are still welcome to during this time given there is a wheel spot available. No assistance can be given during this time and you will be expected to work independently and not affect the class. Text/call Jacob to see if there is any availability's for you to jump on the wheel during this time.)
ORANGE: The area marked Orange shows the time which Pottery workshops (Glazing) generally run, During this time The Glazing Area will generally be occupied and the use of the pug mill is prohibited.
- Customers may still shop around but may have to wait to be served if my hands are messy or my students need assistance.
- Customers picking up orders or lesson pots should contact me prior so that I can get your work ready for you.
- Due to the size of the glazing area being small the area cannot be used (hired) while a class is using the area.
YELLOW: The area marked yellow means Jacob will be glazing, during this time no-one else can use the area however the pug mill can still be hired and used.
- The Shop is open as usual during this time.
GREEN: The area marked green means a private workshop is underway, During this time the pottery wheels cannot be hired and the pug mill cannot be used.
- Students hiring the space can still use the glazing area during this time unless the private workshop requires the space. (check with Jacob)
- If you are picking up pottery during this time it is important that you let me know prior so I can have your work ready for collection,
- If you are shopping I cannot serve you until the workshop is over out of respect for the private booking.
